Nicholas Leigh Art

I am a landscape painter born and based in the English Lake District, working mainly with oil paints. Through my paintings I aim to capture the effect of light on the landscape and, with an interest in 1930s posters, to create new bold original paintings of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and other views from the natural world.

 As a climber and fell runner, I aim to paint the fleeting moments from the places I visit."
 

I studied at Leeds College of Art and Design and Loughborough University and have exhibited in London, Cambridge and the Lake District, as well as undertaking private commissions.
