Nicholas Leigh is an artist born and based in the English Lake District. He is a landscape painter working mainly with oil paints. His paintings aim to capture the effect of light on the landscape and, through an interest in 1930s posters, new bold original paintings of the Lake District, the Dales and other views from the natural world.
"My work is inspired by the Cumbrian fells, nature and mountains of the world that I travel to.
As a climber and fell runner, I aim to paint the fleeting moments from the places I visit."
He studied at Leeds College of Art and Design and Loughborough University and has exhibited in London, Cambridge and the Lake District, as well as undertaking private commissions.
